Percussion Roundtable sets 2010 meeting dates

Join in the discussion to enhance your program

The Percussion Instructor RoundTable (PIRT) has set their meeting dates for the coming year.  The first session is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 12th at 7 p.m. at the Immaculata High School band room in Somerville, N.J.

During these sessions, percussion instructors, band directors and judges have the opportunity to discuss ‘all things percussion,’ including show design, exercise programs, motivation, writing concepts, indoor drum line and much more. The sessions are open to any and all directors, judges and drum staff interested in networking with their percussive peers.

Below are the 2010 PIRT meeting dates:

Tuesday, Jan. 12
Wednesday, Feb. 17
Tuesday, March 23
Thursday, April 22
Monday, May 24
Wednesday, June 30
Monday, July 26

Past PIRT sessions have included Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International Hall of Fame guest speakers and clinics by DCI finalist judges. In 2009, PIRT-member drum lines performed the PIRT Group Cadence at US Scholastic Band Association shows and football games during the fall marching season.  Come to a meeting to find out what the excitement is all about!  Attendance at the sessions is flexible, come to one, come to all, come to whichever fits your schedule. All meetings start at 7 p.m. and are held at Immaculata High School. Please RSVP to Dan Bonham at dan@ihsband.org if you’ll be attending.
