Register now for the first ever USSBA Indoor Championship

Limited space remains for dance, guard or percussion groups

Performance opportunities in the inaugural USSBA Indoor Championship are being snatched up quickly as dance, colorguard and percussion groups jump at the opportunity to be a part of this historic event!

So far, more than 40 performances will highlight the season-ending Championship being held on April 17th at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. The USSBA Indoor team encourages groups to register soon as limiten slots remain in this exciting day guaranteed to include color, emotion, passion, energy and, of course, great spinning, tossing and drumming!

Sticking to its mission of hosting events in spectacular venues, the USSBA Indoor Championship will be held in the Sun National Bank Center, the 10,000 seat home of the Trenton Devils (East Coast Hockey League), Philadelphia Passion (Lingerie Football League), and the NJ Kings (American Indoor Football Association). During the past decade, the center has hosted international music sensations like Cher, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John; top sports events such as the 2006 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball First and Second Rounds, and 2009 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Trenton Regional; and family-friendly entertainment like the Blue Man Group, Cirque Du Soleil, Disney On Ice, and The Harlem Globetrotters.

“Just like the USSBA’s outdoor marching band events, venue is a crucial part of the overall experience for performers,” said Sean King, Director of the USSBA. “The Sun National Bank Center provides the atmosphere fitting for our debut first ever event.”

The championship will close out an 11-week season that began Feb. 13th and includes scholastic groups from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Carrying over its philosophies of providing student-centered performance opportunities, the USSBA dedicated itself in the summer of 2009 to launching USSBA Indoor this winter. Using A-AA-AAA classifications, USSBA Indoor is ideal for not only established programs, but a circuit where novice groups can learn, grow and flourish, said King.

Also added to the format is an A Junior level for colorguards, specific to middle and junior high school guards that will perform using the A Class criteria, but never against high school-aged groups.

“We are ecstatic with the turn-out of support for our Indoor events. We have wanted to take this opportunity for years, and through the partnerships with our many friends in the activity, it is finally possible,” King said.
