Fall Registrations Coming Soon

Starting March 15

Beginning March 1, USSBA Member bands will have the opportunity to register for the full fall calendar of events for the 2010 USSBA Marching Band Season.  The 2010 Schedule includes an all new event in Rutgers University, the debut of the Tennessee State Championship, second events at Navy & Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis and at UT-Chattanooga and a return to Hersheypark Stadium, The College of New Jersey and Long Island, along with 100 local events where you can showcase your program this fall.

Putting the pieces of the schedule together is always a challenge, with the 40 square foot white board in the office undergoing perpetual change.  It’s an exciting process, and one that in some ways becomes easier each year – but in other ways illustrates the superhuman effort it takes the bands, the judges, the show staff and the office team to pull it off.

Our strategy as it began to unfold last year is to provide a full season of local USSBA events within a comfortable driving distance of each schools, with a series of Regional, State or Championship competitions available for each program to choose how they wish to finish their season.  We believe we’ve done a good job at balancing geography and provide a quality season for each of our bands, however to reach our ultimate goal will probably take a few more years.

As always, there are still a few more events to be added to the schedule as requests, letters of intent and of course, college football schedules are received over the coming weeks.

Different from past years, and as a benefit for our USSBA Member Bands, only those member bands will be able to register for the first weeks of the sign-up process in order to guarantee exclusive first-access to the events in which they choose to participate.  Beginning March 15, all bands will be able to register for their chose of nearly 150 events in this season regardless of their membership status.
