USSBA Indoor holds first event in Pennsauken, N.J.

Registration for upcoming shows, Championship still open!

Zildjian Indoor Percussion Presented by the USSBA (ZIP) made its debut Saturday at Pennsauken High School in Pennsauken, N.J. Above, representatives of the percussion groups participating included West Milford HS, Nottingham HS, Haddon Heights HS, Pennsauken HS, and Triton Regional HS.

Saturday was a day for firsts! Not only for the dozen colorguard and percussion groups who took the floor for the first time this winter, but also for the USSBA Indoor team that successful kicked off their anticipated debut season. 

The 10-week season launched at Pennsauken High School in Pennsauken, N.J., on Saturday, Feb. 13th, welcoming groups at the elementary, middle and high school levels. 

“After more than a year in planning, launching the USSBA Indoor season is a tremendous milestone for the Association,” said Sean King, Director of the USSBA. “We have an exciting season ahead of us and now, with the first event under our belts, we’re here to learn and grow, always striving to give students the finest indoor experience possible.”

Perform with USSBA Indoor! 

Already, more than 55 groups have registered to participate this season that culminates with the first ever USSBA Indoor Championship on April 17th in Trenton, N.J. Every event will bring the USSBA’s student first-oriented philosophies from the fall marching band season onto the gymnasium floor. 

Space remains available in most events for groups to participate in the USSBA Indoor inaugural season. 

USSBA Indoor season will be for scholastic groups exclusively, however collegiate and independent units can participate in as many events as they would like for performance opportunities and recruiting.

The first ever USSBA Indoor Championship on April 17th is filling up fast, so grab the chance to be a part of the excitement. The Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J., will host the final season-ender. With nearly 40 dance, colorguard and percussion groups already signed up, it’s going to be a day of emotion, energy and fun.
