Join Up! Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline first rehearsal on March 2nd

Instruction, equipment and plenty of fun for kids in local program

Quality instruction, equipment and uniforms are provided free to participating members of the Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline. The drumline begins rehearsals on Tuesday, March 2nd.

The Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline will kick off its third season with their first rehearsal of 2010 on March 2nd at Smith Mountain Middle School in Allentown. Students in fourth through eighth grades interested in learning to play percussion or be a part of the 30-member colorguard are invited to attend and become part of this FREE program.

Rehearsals for the drumline will be held every Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Smith Mountain Middle School.

Entering its third year of providing Lehigh Valley youth an avenue to learn, play and perform, the Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline provides talented and qualified instructors teaching novice drummers and colorguard members the basics of becoming a performing marching unit. In the summertime, the group performs in local parades and community events. All equipment, instruction and uniforms are provided free to members.

The Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline is part of the Urban Arts Center, a program of Youth Education in the Arts, based in Allentown. YEA!’s Urban Arts Center programs are made possible through generous donations within the community and from national organizations, including The Allentown Weed & Seed Coalition, The Century Fund, The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Yamaha Corporation of America, Remo Incorporated, The Avedis Zildjian Company, Inc., and Vic Firth Inc.
