USSBA Indoor brings its fresh approach to North Penn

Guards, percussion units glow and grow in performance

Rancocas Valley High School's drumline enjoys a little pre-show time Saturday at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa. Below, Dennis DeLucia, the USSBA Indoor Percussion Education Director, provides feedback to a group.

While several groups found themselves unable to make the trip due to snow-related issues, the US Scholastic Band Association Indoor show at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa., was a big hit, as more guard and percussion units took the floor, delivering exciting programs while gaining precious performance experience.

“North Penn is one of our largest events to date and for our debut season, the team is ecstatic with the feedback we’ve received,” said Sean King, Director of the USSBA. “Bringing our positive and fulfilling experiences from the football field into the Indoor arena is working, and those participating in our events are taking notice.”

Thirteen colorguard and percussion groups participated in the North Penn event, the USSBA’s third show in the 10-week season. Already hundreds of students have benefitted from the philosophies of USSBA Indoor where the experience and expertise of quality adjudicators is presented in a useful, exciting and positive way. Novice, intermediate and experienced groups are coming away energized with a fresh approach never before seen in an indoor circuit.
