USSBA 2010 Open Registration begins

Several fall events already at full capacity

Registration for the 2010 USSBA fall marching band season continues as some events reach near capacity.

After 10 days of exclusive registration period for US Scholastic Band Association member bands, open registration is underway for all bands interested in participating in the fall marching band season.  Bands interested in registering for the USSBA’s most popular events and guaranteeing a performance slot can Register Here

USSBA Registrations for the first 10 days are at a record setting pace, with some of the newest events, and returning events in new venues or formats leading the way.

Here is a sampling of some of the events which are at or near capacity:

  • National Championships registrations are at 70 percent capacity and far ahead of all former years.  (Important Note:  There are only 100 performance slots, and with 15 first-time bands entered into the 2010 event, there will not be enough time slots for all returning bands from 2009)
  • Northern States in Allentown’s J. Birney Crum Stadium.  Nov. 6 date is at full capacity and has been CLOSED.  Less than a dozen performance slots remain for Oct. 30 (Open Class Groups 2-5) and Oct. 31 (Open Class Groups 1 and 6 and Class A Groups 4-6)
  • Maryland and Delaware State Championships (Towson University-Oct. 16) has 20 bands registered in only 10 days.  A full list of registered bands will be published soon as we work toward bringing the four regions of Maryland together at one mid-season event
  • The DeMoulin Challenge (Rutgers University-Oct 16) has been WAIT LISTED for the 30 guaranteed preliminary performance times
  • A handful of local events have already achieved maximum capacity and others will reach that level by the end of March.
