Unique clinic format this weekend at Pequannock Township event

Indoor features instant feedback, plus jammin' REMO drum circle!

Colorguards and percussion groups performing at Pequannock Township High School this Saturday will reap the benefits of a unique USSBA Indoor format that brings clinicians onto the floor following the unit’s performance to give them quality one-on-one instruction.

Ten groups will be featured in the seventh show of the inaugural USSBA Indoor season. Pequannock Township High School will host the event that features a first-of-its-kind approach where students will receive immediate feedback from quality adjudicators and clinicians.

“This is a perfect event for entry level and intermediate units to get a feel for where their program is and where it is headed,” said Beverly Brahan, Colorguard Education Director for the USSBA. “We have some great clinicians who can help groups right here and now, and also can provide insight and tips for those who might be interested in beginning a group for 2011.”

Colorguard clinicians will be April Martinez, Cheryl Gillick, Carl Kreft and Jason Pliska while percussion groups will receive advice from Cheryl Gillick and Matt and Amy Savage.

“We have a lot of first-time units this year, and this clinic format will be a tremendous opportunity for them to get some developmental feedback as they build their program for the future,” said Dennis DeLucia, Percussion Education Director for the USSBA.

The afternoon will come to an exciting and rhythmic close as Matt and Amy Savage lead all those who participated that day in a drum circle sponsored in part by Remo Incorporated.  Adjudicators will also remain available after the show for guests and performers who might want additional feedback and information on starting an indoor unit in 2011.
