School district's music offerings hailed as tops in the country

In the News: USSBA bands are recognized by NAMM recently posted this story online recognizing the merits of several US Scholastic Band Association member schools:

The Metuchen school district's music department has been recognized as of 174 school U.S. school districts honored for their commitment to music education. This is the third year in a row that Metuchen has received the honor, schools Superintendent Theresa Pollifrone-Sinatra said.

The honor was based on a survey sponsored by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. This year's survey, which was conducted between Jan. 17 and March 12, was available to all districts nationwide. Teachers and school district administrators, representing communities across the country, participated in the Web-based survey.
