Reception, Concert, Alumni Mass, plus parades herald a new season!

Your Memorial Day holiday weekend will burst with big brass sound in a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and dance! Tickets are still available for An Evening with the Cadets on Sunday, May 30 at 7 p.m. in North Jersey. 

Youth Education in the Arts presents An Evening with the Cadets at Pequannock Township High School in Pompton Plains, N.J. Not only will you hear the Nine-Time World Champion Cadets unveil their 2010 musical repertoire to Toy Souldier, the evening concert will include other great entertainment, including the Pequannock Township Jazz Ensemble and The Cadets Colorguard. The corps will also be honoring the first legacy selection for the Cadets Hall of Fame – Arthur J. Mura. 

To kick off the concert in true Cadets’ style, a Pre-Concert Reception will be held prior from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mix, mingle and enjoy the company of those who share a common bond with each other – the Cadets and the upcoming drum corps season!  

Tickets for An Evening with the Cadets are $15 and can be purchased online until noon Sunday, May 30. Those purchased online can be picked up at Will Call prior to the concert. 

Tickets to the concert only will also be for sale at the door.

 Pequannock Township High School is located at 85 Sunset Road, Pompton Plains, N.J. 


Alumni from the Holy Name chapter in North Jersey are also holding events surrounding The Cadets being in North Jersey for the concert and parades on Memorial Day Weekend, including the return of the Memorial Mass and luncheon on Sunday, May 30 and the Hawthorne post-parade pizza party on Monday, May 31. 

2nd Annual Memorial Mass, 10:30 a.m.
Church of the Most Holy Name, Garfield, N.J.
Join fellow alumni and their families for a special Mass at the church where it all began 76-years ago. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the VFW Hall on Outwater Lane in Garfield. All are welcome at this event. There is no admission charge. Picnic type food will be available for purchase, and the bar will be open for your pleasure. Those attending are encouraged to bring a dessert to share!

Memorial Day Parades
The Cadets will perform in the Carlstadt, Rochelle Park and Hawthorne, N.J., Memorial Day parades, a tradition held for decades! Following the Hawthorne parade, which steps off at 1:30 p.m., The Cadets will return to offer a short concert in front of the reviewing stand as a gesture of thanks to the citizens of Hawthorne for their hospitality through the years, and as a salute to the Cadets alumni. 

Hawthorne Post-Parade Pizza Party
After the Hawthorne parade, The Cadets will change out of uniforms and head to American Legion Post #199, the Caballeros home post, located right around the corner from the reviewing stand area, where they will enjoy a pizza party hosted by the alumni.
