Cadets shine in Memorial Weekend concert in North Jersey

Fans, donors and alumni ecstatic with debut of 'Toy Souldier"

The 2010 Cadets play for a packed house at Pequannock Township High School in Pompton Plains, N.J.

The Cadets couldn’t have asked for a better holiday weekend!

The six-hour trip from Johnstown, Pa., to perform for alumni, donors and fans was definitely one for the scrap books. From the packed house at An Evening with The Cadets concert Sunday night in Pompton Plains, N.J., to the many cheering fans and appreciative alumni along three parade routes in North Jersey on Memorial Day. Year number 76 for the Maroon and Gold is off to a fantastic start!

A few comments from alumni and fans who were among the nearly 400 attendiing the concert:

I have no adequate words. Gino Cipriani was in front of me.  At the end I said "My God!  You have two months to tweak 'em.  What are you going to do, get them to play faster?"  He smiled that knowing smile and said "Yeah! Incredible!’ And the percussion…they shouldn't be allowed to play indoors. Fire hazard!

Wow! This could be the best show yet! I simply could not believe the percussion solo. What a great job of engaging an audience. And the opening … spectacular!

The Cadets unveiled their musical repertoire for their summer production, Toy SOULdier, on Sunday evening. Below, The Cadets Colorguard also performed on stage.

Below, a VIP Reception was held before the concert and welcomed more than 100 guests that included family of members, donors and alumni.
