Guest Conductor leads The Cadets in Rocky Point Holiday

Conduct the hornline, be in on the traditional pre-show song!

Robin Bierschenk, mother of member Julie Bierschenk and long-time, dedicated volunteer, conducted The Cadets playing Rocky Point Holiday last night before the Massillon, Ohio, show. What an experience for her! Said Robin, "I have been wanting to do that since I was 12-years old!"

Robin was the first guest conductor of the corps since The Cadets announced their extended Annual Campaign that provides fans the opportunity to conduct the corps at warm-ups or stand in the Holy Name Circle prior to the show.

Barbara and John Pittman, parents of colorguard member, Ashley Pittman, stood with The Cadets before the recent South Carolina show. The Pittmans followed Eric Santo the night before in Atlanta, Ga., who also stood in the Holy Name Circle for the pre-show pep talk and singing of the corps' song.

"I tried to look at my daughter Ashley but I had to look away... the intensity of the moment and watching those kids hang on every word George says is incredible. It was the single best drum corps moment of ...my entire life," said Barbara Pittman.

Santo described his experience:

“I absolutely loved it, it took me back 30 years, Santo said. “When you are singing with the alumni and kids at an event it is great but don't mistake it for being the same thing as standing in the CENTER of the circle Pre Show and hearing the pre show talk.  The emotional intensity of that moment is indescribable.”

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!

Bids to conduct the corps at warm-ups or stand in the center of the Holy Name circle for the corps remaining shows are still being accepted.

Imagine…

  • YOU…Conducting the Cadets’ legendary favorite Rocky Point Holiday and another tune or two at a show warm-up, or…
  • YOU…Standing within the circle as The Cadets sing their long-loved corps’ song before the show. And, if you wish, you will also be able to stand on the sideline as a member of the staff.

There might not be a moment in your life quite like this!

How is this possible? Through The Cadets extended Annual Campaign, we are offering these once in a lifetime opportunities to those who have always wanted to conduct a World Class hornline, or experience the pre-show pep talk and singing of the corps’ song, a cherished moment for every Cadet!
