In an unexpected presentation, Cadets Director George Hopkins accepted a collection from the entire membership to assist in the September launching of the Susan Erben Cadets Scholarship Fund. Erben, the Director of Development for Youth Education in the Arts, died on June 24 in a vehicle accident. Following her death, Hopkins announced the establishment of the scholarship fund to assist Cadets with their Summer Tour Fees.
