Ch-Ch-Changes come to the USSBA regular season

Several events changing dates and locations

As is the case every year in mid-August, a slew of changes come our way from the Fall Marching Band schedule originally published in early March.  2010 is no different, especially since the relocation of the Yamaha Cup created upheaval all on its own.

It is important to know that these changes do not affect each band’s current schedule, but rather we would like to promote these events as new opportunities for bands to support good quality hosts who will be putting together some of the best events of the year!

Vernon Township HS – NEW DATE – Saturday, Oct. 9.  As one band caught up in the Yamaha Cup at the New Meadowlands Stadium calendar shift, Max Taylor has moved his show from Oct. 2 to Oct. 9 to benefit bands who want to participate in the Yamaha Cup and support other shows in the region like Roxbury and Morris Knolls.  For this sacrifice, we encourage bands to make the trip to Max’s unbelievable facility with turf field, nice stands and warm-up fields for as far as the eye can see.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS – NEW DATE – Saturday, Oct. 23.  Durand Thomas has been a good friend to us all for many years and we hope you support his show, the day before the New Jersey State Championships.  With an afternoon show, you’ll be able to give the band a run-through and get judge’s feedback the day before the Championships.

Huntington HS – Huntington, NY- NEW LOCATION – Sunday, Oct. 17.  Due to a last minute stadium reconstruction – yes, a last minute stadium reconstruction plan, the great folks at Hicksville HS have been left without a stadium for 2010.  The USSBA staff scrambled and was able to secure a site at Huntington HS for this event.  All bands registered are still good to go, and again, this is a great way to tune-up for the New York State Championships one week later.

Kingsway Regional HS – Woolwich, NJ – NEW EVENT -  Saturday, Oct. 30.  New to the USSBA family, Band Director Nicholas Kline wants to hit the ground running with a pre-Northern States/post-New Jersey States contest at his school.  We encourage bands who may want to get one more show in either after New Jersey States or before Northern States to attend this South Jersey extravaganza… and help a new guy out!

You can register for any one of these great events by visiting CLICKING HERE.

We’ll see you at the show!
