Volunteers needed for USSBA 2010!

Can you help? Online interest form now available

The US Scholastic Band Association needs you!

In just two weeks, the 22nd anniversary of the USSBA kicks off with six events on Saturday, Sept. 11. From there, the Association will coordinate nearly 140 events during the bustling 10-week season.

It’s a huge endeavor, and one that brings satisfaction and smiles to the faces of thousands of young performers across the country! We can’t do it alone. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to help create experiences of a lifetime for marching band students.

Would you consider being a part of the USSBA’s 2010 season? The USSBA guarantees that once you interact with these amazing students, and once you feel their energy and enthusiasm, you will be hooked!

What you need to know:

  • The 10-week season starts Sept. 11 and runs every weekend until Nov. 14. It includes nearly 140 events, 700 marching bands and thousands of students from schools in multiple states.
  • Events are being held in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic, Southeast and Texas. Check the complete schedule to see what might be closest to you.
  • Shifts are scheduled according to what works for you and your busy life. If all day is too long, just a few hours will help tremendously.
  • The jobs are actually fun and we match you to something you will enjoy! Greet the bands, sell Airgrams, Candygrams, tickets, programs or merchandise. You will leave gratified and wanting to come back.
  • We will welcome you with open arms. Don’t know anyone? Nervous about trying something new? So many seasoned volunteers were in the same position as you. Take the chance - something remarkable might just happen!
  • It’s easy! Simply fill out the USSBA Volunteer Interest Form and select the shows that you are available to help out. Upon being submitted, your requests will be directed to Andrew Barlow, Volunteer Coordinator, who will contact you to confirm your show dates and provide you with the details of that event.
  • Individuals and service groups needing community service hours are welcome, and we’ll provide the needed documentation.

Remember, no time is too little! Two hours, six hours, or all day - whatever you can spare to help make band kids smile! CLICK HERE to fill out the USSBA Volunteer Interest Form or email Andrew Barlow, Volunteer Coordinator, at andrew@yea.org, or call (610) 821-0345, Ext. 122, to make arrangements.
