USSBA Indoor local host deadline coming soon

Potential hosts asked to submit Letter of Intent

USSBA Indoor Championships will return for the second year to the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J.

Plans are well underway for the second season of the USSBA Indoor to step-off in February 2011 with hosts, teams and judges continuing the momentum from the successful first season of USSBA guard and percussion events.

For 2011, we are pleased to announce the US Scholastic Band Association Indoor Championships will return to the Sun National Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J.  Sun National Bank Arena fits the bill as we bring groups from across the Mid-Atlantic and New England for a Championship serving many of the top groups from the region, much in the same way the USSBA Fall Marching Band Championships do.

Teams from Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia have a chance to see how they stack up against guards and drumlines from other states that they never have a chance to see in their regular season contests.  The goal for the Championship continues to be to provide a remarkable experience for performers in a great setting with terrific judges!  Watch for registrations to begin soon.

“Participants and staff alike enjoyed the setting of a large arena to put a conclusion to an exciting season of events,” said Sean King, Director of the USSBA. “We anticipate bringing the same level of excitement to the 2011 season as we continue to build a tradition of excellence and achievement through participation in the indoor activity with a student-first philosophy.”

The biggest undertaking for the USSBA 2011 Indoor season will be an expansion of events into new areas with select dates in Maryland and Virginia, with additional new events being added to the schedule in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Of course, the majority of events from the inaugural season will return to grow in scope and service.

With these ambitious plans for growth, the USSBA’s focus turns to filling the remainder of the regular season schedule.  As of Aug. 20, the USSBA has fielded several dozen formal and informal requests to host an event in the 2011 season.  We invite all prospective hosts would to fill out the 2011 Indoor Letter of Intent form to officially place their schools on the list to serve as a host in 2011.

The USSBA is searching ideally for schools that have hosted a high quality indoor event in the past, thus knowing the ins and outs associated with the winterguard and indoor percussion activity.  Plenty of parking, warm-up space and a high quality gymnasium are a must in facilities, while a dedicated, veteran booster organization committed to a great customer experience for units, staff and members will allow us to extend the customer service model from the fall marching band season to the winter indoor schedule.

The financial package will be similar to the structure in 2010 and is available for review to those who submit the 2011 Indoor Letter of Intent.  By completing the form, schools and booster groups are not obligated to hosting an event, however will be contacted to further explore their interest in this unique fundraising opportunity.
