Reminder: Show Withdrawal Policy Outlined

Withdrawal deadlines detailed for each event week

As the US Scholastic Band Association’s fall marching season gets underway, band directors are reminded of the USSBA’s withdrawal policy outlined in the 2010 USSBA Rule Book.

Questions about the withdrawal policy should be directed to Tara Lee Bryant, Show Host Relations Manager for the USSBA, at tara@yea.org, or by telephone at (610) 821-0345, Ext. 119.

USSBA Withdrawal from Show Policy
Any band may withdraw from a USSBA-sanctioned show up to three (3) weeks prior to the event without penalty. After that point, a withdrawal will result in a monetary fine which is used to compensate hosts for their investment in their event.

For Local Events, the fine is forwarded directly to the Local Event Host to be applied toward expenses and lost income resulting from the withdrawal.

For USSBA Events, the penalty for a band withdrawing from an event that does not have a registration fee will be the same as the Local Event listed below.

If the USSBA event has a registration fee the entire amount of the fee will be forfeited, or in the case the band has not yet submitted payment, bands will be invoiced for the amount of the fee.

The fine schedule is as follows:

Group I: $250
Group II: $300
Group III: $350
Group IV: $400
Group V: $450
