A fantastic day of marching music on Sept. 18!

Award sheets posted for USSBA weekend events

Nearly 70 bands took the field Saturday as the US Scholastic Band Association held its second week of events.

Seven shows took place in four states on Sept. 18, three of which were Clinic & Preview shows that gave nearly 30 bands  immediate feedback on their programs and performances by qualified clinicians in the marching arts.

Award sheets are posted for the following shows:

Red Land High School Clinic & Preview, Camp Hill, Pa.

Francis T. Maloney High School Clinic & Preview, Meriden, Conn.

William Byrd High School Clinic & Preview, Vinton Va.

Phillipsburg High School Phillipsburg, N.J.

Woodstown High School, Woodstown, N.J.

Carteret High School, Carteret, N.J.

West Deptford High School, Deptford, N.J.

Starting Sept. 25, and for the following seven weeks, the USSBA schedule ramps up as each weekend features more than 20 events on Saturdays, and shows scheduled on Sundays beginning Oct. 3. Even though the volume increases, USSBA Director Sean King said the team strives to keep the YOUssba focus on YOU!

“Everything we do is about YOU. It is about the music educators, the adjudicators and the event staff that provide the opportunities for young people to be great. It is about the band boosters, the band parents and other guests who attend every event, no matter the weather, the location or the circumstance. And of course, it is about the great, great young people who play, march, drum, spin and dance their way through our lives,” said King. “YOU are the reason why the USSBA exists and from every planning meeting to every award ceremony, the accent will always be on YOU!”
