Cadets saddened with loss of John Van Dillewyn

Arrangements set for Oct. 1-2 in Hackensack, N.J.

The Cadets are saddened with the recent passing of John Van Dillewyn, a soprano player for the Garfield Cadets in 1975-1976. 

John died on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the age of 55 years. He worked as a Construction Service Manager for Con Edison of New York for 23 years. He was a member of the Iron Thunder Motorcycle Club of Hackensack, the Garfield Cadets, and the Valley Grenadiers of Hillsdale. He was the devoted father of Amanda Van Dillewyn of Ramsey, loving son of Gloria Cooke Van Dillewyn of Washington and the late Hendrik, dearest brother of Barbara Collina formerly of Washington Township and cherished companion of Elaine Mennetti of Dumont. 

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

A bereavement gathering will be held at Solari's Restaurant, 61 River Street, Hackensack, N.J.  (201)-487-1967. Those attending will take care of their own expenses.
