Sun, Turf, Bands, A New Stadium .... AND YOU!

Can you volunteer SATURDAY at New Meadowlands Stadium

This Saturday, Oct. 2, 50 of the best marching bands in the region will descend upon THE NEW MEADOWLANDS STADIUM, for the first ever marching band competition within this grand facility.

After years and years at Giants Stadium, with some of the greatest performances in New Jersey band history, the US Scholastic Band Association is relocating to the spectacular confines of this fabulous arena.

Five thousand students and 10,000 fans are less than 24 hours from having the time of their lives!

We here at Youth Education in the Arts, which includes THE CADETS and the US Scholastic Band Association, are charged with insuring the event is the best it can be and to do this – we need you to come by. We need you to give some time. Really, we need you in the same stadium where GIANTS WALK and JETS ROAR!!! 

There are 100 things you need to do Saturday – but this is a once in a lifetime experience for these kids.

There are 100 things you need to do Saturday – and we respectfully ask that you give to us, and the students, just six hours.

Please.

The YAMAHA CUP INVITATIONAL kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. The YEA! office team will be on hand at 4 p.m. through 9 p.m. today preparing, and Saturday at 6 a.m., in time to see the sun rise.

But what we ask of you is to attend at least one of the following time slots – so that you can offer assistance. 

SLOT 1 – 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
SLOT 2 – 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
SLOT 3 – 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. (or so) 

Can you do? And before you say, why are they asking so late; indeed, this is too late. But, we only can do what we can do now and we will look to be a bit more strategic coming down the road.

So – will you come to a day of music and celebration of the arts and our kids?

Write to George Hopkins at hopkins@yea.org and let him know you can make it. As for the day of the event, you will check in at the RV in LOT G, on the West Side of the Stadium. There will be no parking fee collected so it should be easy access.
