Southern States Champions named in Chattanooga

The energy coming from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium was infectious Saturday as another 40 scholastic marching bands brought their magic to the field! Groups IV and V had their day during the Fifth Annual US Scholastic Band Association National Championship. It was the second of a three day event that welcomed 101 bands to compete for the grand title in their class.

The second to last day of the USSBA 2010 season also featured the Southern States Championship held at Finley Stadium on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Nineteen bands from Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi vied for the Southern States title.

Habersham Central High School – Group VA

More Marching Action on Sunday!

The 22nd season of the USSBA comes to a close Sunday with the final day of the National Championships in Annapolis and the last day of Northern States competition in Allentown, Pa.

In Annapolis, 31 bands will compete in Groups III and VI.



In Allentown, it’s the I A and III A epic event on Sunday as the last of the three-day USSBA Northern States Championship series closes out 2010.  Forty-three bands will perform as the USSBA comes off last weekend’s phenomenal two-day run at J. Birney that featured another 80 groups – all part of America’s largest high school marching band competition!
