It all begins on tonight, Friday, Nov. 19, when the 77th version of the Maroon and Gold comes together at Reading  High School in Reading, Pa.  Brass and percussion musicians and colorguard performers are invited to audition for the 2011 corps and begin a journey that will change your life!

WALK-UP REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 7 P.M. 

ATTENDING? WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW… 

Cadets Audition registration remains open via the corps’ web site, or Walk-Up Registration is available beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday. Registration tables will be set up in the small gymnasium on the first floor, near the front loop of the school. All camp attendees are asked to check in at the registration table.

9:30 pm Welcome Meeting in Main Gymnasium

10:15 pm Move to Sectionals

10:30 pm Sectionals

10:30-11:15 pm Q&A Session for all parents & guests

12:45 am Snack & Videos

PICK-UPS AND TRANSPORTATION 

Air Travelers:

Those traveling by air to Philadelphia International Airport should wait at the designated pick-up location after arriving. The pickup location for all air travelers is Terminal C, Baggage Claim F. 

The pickup times are as follows:

Friday:
5:30-5:45 PM BUS
6:00 PM VAN
7:30 PM VAN
9:15 PM VAN
11:45 PM VAN

In case of changes that affect your pick-up time on the day of camp, please send a TEXT MESSAGE (Please NO voicemails!) to Assistant Director Justin “Rudy” Heimbecker’s cell phone at (610) 357-1540 with the following:

-Planned arrival time
-New estimated arrival time

Reading High School

From Allentown, Pa.:

  • *Take Hamilton Street WEST (Route 222 South)  7 miles
  • *Stay on Route 222 SOUTH toward Reading  18.5 miles
  • *Stay left for Route 222 BUSINESS  6 miles
  • *Turn left onto Spring Street .8 miles
  • *Turn right onto 13th Street   .2 miles
  •  

From I-76 (Philadelphia or Harrisburg):

  • *Take the right exit #327-328A-328B for US-202 WEST & US-422 WEST  .1 miles
  • *Immediately take the left exit #328A toward US-422 / Benjamin Franklin Parkway  34.7 miles       
  • *Take the exit for US-422 BUSINESS and merge onto Perkiomen Avenue 2.3 miles
  • *Turn right onto Hill Road  .2 miles
  • *Turn left onto Clymer Road (becomes 13th Street) 1 mile 

When you arrive:

Turn left into the “front loop” of the school. You may unload belongings in the loop (please do not block thru traffic) and enter the door next to the large Cadets box truck. Enter, turn left into the hallway, and place belongings in the hallway outside of the main gymnasium.  

After unloading, please move your vehicle to the designated parking area. There will be representatives to assist in the loading/parking process. After parking, proceed to the same area (small gymnasium) to register and receive your nametag.
