Central Pennsylvania band directors, staff invited to gather

Dec. 9 meeting scheduled to discuss the 2011 season

Greetings Central Pennsylvania!

We’re hoping you’ve all been able to rest and recover from the long (but dry) fall marching band season.  Thank you to all who participated in the US Scholastic Band Association to make 2010 the most successful season in our 22 year history!

With the band season in our rearview mirror and the holidays immediately before us, we wanted to schedule a time to meet with the directors in the Central Pennsylvania region to address the 2011 season in advance of the holidays and the New Year.

We are excited to invite you to the “kick-off” of the 2011 season with an informal meeting at the Susquehanna Township High School band room on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

We’ve heard from numerous directors and staff from bands in the area that they would like to participate in the USSBA in 2011, and we thought now would be a great time for us to gather, meet and answer any and all questions you might have.

Additionally, we’re also inviting all current USSBA participating bands to this informal gathering to review plans for next year – including some very exciting changes to the format of some events and a more substantial commitment to the Central Pennsylvania region by the USSBA.

If you’ve had questions or interest in participating in the USSBA, this is a great time to come out and speak with many of the directors who already participate – as well as meet some of the office team and have all of your questions answered.

If you can’t make the Dec. 9 meeting due to a concert or other commitment, just let us know and we’ll try to arrange another time to chat with you.

Should you have any questions – please contact me at your convenience.  Otherwise, we look forward to seeing each of you on Dec. 9, and in the meantime best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Sean King
Director, USSBA
