The Cadets seek synth player and voice major

Brass, percussion auditions ongoing at January camp

Eligible brass and percussion musicians can still audition for The Cadets at the Jan. 7-9 camp at Woodstown High School in Woodstown, N.J. The percussion line is pretty much set, the brass section looks good, but if you are interested and have been unable to attend rehearsals to this point, this is your last opportunity.

In addition, the Front Ensemble is also in need of an experienced synth player for the coming season. According to Front Ensemble Coordinator and Arranger Iain Moyer, the candidate would have the following qualifications:

1) An excellent piano player who is capable of performing soloistically in a number of piano styles (classical, jazz, pop) is mandatory,

2) Previous experience as a front ensemble synthesizer or electronics player is highly preferred,

3) Previous basic percussion experience on accessory percussion instruments (hand cymbals, bass drum) is preferable,

4) A collegiate percussion major with piano experience would be highly desirable

And finally, auditions will be held over the Jan. 7-9 weekend to locate a FEMALE Singer, preferably a soprano who is of age and able to spend the summer with The Cadets. The singer will have a roll in the summer production and will also be featured in post show performances where The Cadets will be presenting a number of tunes including One Less Bell to Answer,  Bandstand Boogie and perhaps one other production –type selection.
