Cadets seeking small vehicle drivers for Summer Tour

Check your calendar: Help needed between June 8 and July 23

As The Cadets Summer Tour approaches, parents, alumni and friends of the corps are coming out in droves to fill those crucial volunteer spots. But the need for small vehicle drivers remains, according to Cadets Assistant Director Justin Heimbecker, particularly from June 8 through July 23.

Are you able to drive a van, box truck or RV for The Cadets during that time?

Heimbecker encourages family members, alumni and fans to take a look at The Cadets schedule to see if you can donate some time as a small vehicle driver. This season, the corps will travel as far as California, the Pacific Northwest, Denver, Col., and deep into Texas. There could be a perfect opportunity to give a little, or a lot, of time to the corps!

“We aren’t asking for a whole summer from a volunteer, although that would be great! A week, maybe two, or even just a day – every little bit helps ensure that these kids have a terrific experience as a Cadet,” Heimbecker said.

A few considerations as you plan your summer as a volunteer:

  • We can always use more assistance early in the tour.
  • In the south, we can always use more help due to the heat, and the continuous travel.
  • As is the tradition, we ask that if you’re taking on the “homestretch” from about Aug. 1 to the end, that you also give some time early in the tour.
  • Background checks will be conducted on all adults traveling with the corps.
  •

Interested volunteers should contact Heimbecker at Justin@yea.org, or Melissa Babalonis at Melissa@yea.org, or by telephone at (610) 821-0345, Ext. 115.
