Cadets rehearsal camp on track for this weekend

What you need to know: Schedules, pick-ups and more!

Back at it this weekend, The Cadets meet at Woodstown High School in Woodstown, N.J., for their second camp in January.

For the third camp in a row, Mother Nature has dumped snow in the Mid-Atlantic States as The Cadets muster for rehearsals. But that certainly hasn’t stopped them!

This weekend it’s more of the same as another winter storm precedes camp at Woodstown High School in Woodstown, N.J. But by the time members and staff begin arriving on Friday afternoon, all should be clear, said Cadets Assistant Director Justin Heimbecker.

“We are keeping a close eye on the track and pace of this storm and it should be past us by the time camp kicks off this weekend,” Heimbecker said. “As we’ve said prior to the last two camps when ugly winter weather reared its head, leave early, plan ahead and take your time to make sure you arrive safely.”

Camp begins Friday, Jan. 28 and runs through Sunday, Jan. 30 and includes both the brass and percussions sections. Colorguard members will be welcomed back to the Feb. 18-20 weekend for several rehearsal sessions, similar to the successful late January camp where nearly 10 members received extra equipment technique and body movement training.

On the agenda for this weekend’s camp are rewrites and new music to the 2011 program, Angels in the Architecture. Also on tap is physical training, marching block and working encore music, according to Heimbecker.
