The US Scholastic Band Association team takes the show to Norristown High School this weekend as they welcome 15 colorguard, dance and percussion groups to the floor for an action-packed afternoon of Indoor pageantry.

Norristown hosts the USSBA’s second event of the 10-week season on Saturday, Feb. 19, kicking off the performances off at 2 p.m. with nine colorguard units in four classes. The afternoon continues with the sounds of thundering drums when a mix of nine standstill and marching groups perform, some for the first time this season!

“What a terrific kick-off to the Indoor season last week at Pennsauken High School,” said Sean King, director of the USSBA. “For many groups coming out for the first time this year, the performance level was remarkable. As the season progresses, we look forward to seeing these groups and many more, all improving and enjoying the one of a kind experience of USSBA Indoor.”

Tickets at the show entrance are $10 for adults, $7 for students.

Norristown High School is located at 1900 Eagle Drive, Norristown, Pa.

With nine spectacular weekends remaining in the USSBA Indoor season, groups are still encouraged sign up for events that culminate on April 16 with the 2nd Annual USSBA Indoor Championship to be held in Trenton, N.J.

Last week, the USSBA launched its second Indoor season based on the sound foundation developed during more than 20 years of providing fall marching events for students.

“Our events should be a place where groups grow and flourish,” King said. “Students should be able to perform in a penalty-free environment where professional adjudication is at the highest quality and never partial. Just as in the fall season, every experience a student has during a USSBA event should be a positive one.”
