Michael Blancaflor the Weekly Pump Up My Line Winner

The US Scholastic Band Association is excited to announce the third weekly winner of the Pump Up My Line Contest is Michael Blancaflor, percussion instructor for Cheshire Winter Percussion.

Michael will have his choice of a Zildjian t-shirt and pair of Vic Firth Mallets and Sticks as a weekly winner in this exciting contest to kick-off the 2011 Zildjian Indoor Percussion Series Presented by the USSBA.

Michael is also still entered to win the Pump Up Your Line Grand Prize Package which will be awarded next week.

Percussion instructors with active units are encouraged to register their unit to perform in a USSBA event this spring before the March 1 Grand Prize Drawing.  The Pump Up My Line Contest has three prize packages.  The Grand Prize Package includes one set of Zildjian marching cymbals, a full set of Remo battery drumheads and a full set of Vic Firth Drumsticks and Mallets.  The First Prize Package includes a full set of Remo drumheads for the battery.  The Second Prize Package wins a full set of Vic Firth Drumsticks and Mallets.

Weekly Winner #1 was Chris Thatcher from the Old Bridge High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble who received his Zildjian t-shirt and will be receiving a pair of Vic Firth M186 Multi application Keyboard mallets.   Weekly Winner #2 was Zane Ruth from the Dallastown Middle School Drumline who will be receiving a Zildjian t-shirt and a pair of Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon "Hammer" sticks.

Zane wrote: “Thanks! That's pretty cool!  I’d like a pair of  Ralph Hardimon "Hammer" they are a scaled down Hardimon‚ made in Sta-Pac® for added weight and sound production.  It's a new product I really wanted to check out!”

The USSBA has teamed with their corporate partners Zildjian, Remo and Vic Firth for the First Annual Pump Up My Line Contest – which will award one lucky indoor drumline a full upgrade of their accessories including heads, sticks, mallets and cymbals for the 2011 Indoor Season.  The contest runs from Feb. 1 through March 1, with weekly winners being selected to win a FREE Zildjian t-shirt and their choice of a pair of Vic Firth drumsticks or mallets.

The Pump Up My Line Contest is open to any 2011 Indoor percussion instructor for schools in the following states: PA, MD, VA, NJ, NY, MA, CT, RI, NH, ME, VT and WV.  Void where prohibited.  No purchase necessary to win.
