Urban Arts Center heads to Family Fun Night in Allentown

Xcape, Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline & Colorguard seek new members

Youth Education in the Arts own Xcape Dance Company, Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline and Colorguard, and Community Hand Drumming Experience Presented by Remo will be showcasing their programs at South Mountain Middle School for Family Fun Night on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

It’s the ideal time to check out all three offerings of the Urban Arts Center of the Lehigh Valley.

In addition, Xcape will be performing at the US Scholastic Band Association Indoor show at North Penn High School in Landsdale, Pa. on Saturday, Feb. 26. They will be performing at 7 p.m.

Xcape, the Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline and Colorguard is  always looking for new members! And sessions of the Community Hand Drumming Experience on ongoing at the 6th Street Gallery in downtown Allentown.

The dance company gives young Allentown people an outlet to express themselves through various forms of dance. Not to mention, youth will gain valuable lessons as members of Xcape. Lessons through successful teamwork, self-discipline and coping skills, these essential characteristics are guiding forces that will lead Xcape members into greater lifestyles. Veteran dancer, Dominick Boyd will lead Xcape along with the rest of this talented staff.

Xcape performance styles include hip-hop, jazz, and lyrical pop. They perform at various venues around the Lehigh Valley throughout the year. Xcape is completely FREE for students in the Allentown School District who want to work hard, have fun, and dance their hearts out!

The Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline and Colorguard will hold an Open House on Tuesday, March 1 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at South Mountain Middle School. Come check out how much fun being a part of a marching percussion ensemble can be! Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays at the school. The group performs throughout the summer at regional parades and festivals.
