Perkiomen Valley Indoor show features clinic sessions

Clinicians provide instant feedback after performances

Colorguards and percussion groups will have the unique opportunity for instant feedback from clinicians on Saturday at the US Scholastic Band Association’s fourth Indoor event of the season.

Perkiomen Valley High School in Collegeville, Pa., is hosting the event that begins at 4 p.m., and features performances by 11 colorguard, percussion and dance ensembles. An educational format at this event includes an approach where immediately following their performance; students receive instant feedback from quality adjudicator and clinicians.

“This is a perfect event for entry level and intermediate units to get a feel for where their program is and where it is headed,” said Eric Kitchenman, colorguard education director of the USSBA. “We have some great clinicians who can help groups right here and now and also can provide insight and tips for those who might be interested in beginning a group for 2012.”

Clinicians for the event will be Eduardo Martinez, Dawn Sobi, Cheryl Gillick and Israel Delgado.

“This clinic format is a tremendous opportunity for groups to get some developmental feedback as they build their program,” said Rich Hammond, Percussion Education Director for the USSBA.
