PIRT presents "A Chat with Champions"

Percussion RoundTable set to meet May 17

The Percussion Instructor RoundTable (PIRT) is proud to present "A Chat with Champions" on Tuesday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at Immaculata High School. This discussion panel-style event will feature the staffs from recent US Scholastic Band Association percussion champions Fair Lawn, Old Bridge and Ridge as they talk about their programs.  Topics include: starting the season, evaluating talent, arranging and exercise programs to name a few.  Come on out and spend an evening with your percussive peers, network, and find out how some of the leading programs in their groups teach, design and create their shows.

The May 17 "A Chat with Champions" gathering will be held in the Immaculata High School band room.  Immaculata is located at 240 Mountain Ave in Somerville, N.J. Please RSVP to Dan Bonham by May 13 at dan@ihsband.org if you would like to attend.

Also in attendance will be representatives of the USSBA and Youth Education in the Arts to discuss an exciting opportunity to perform with the Cadets in a promotion at New Meadowlands Stadium the morning of Saturday, June 11.  Drum-UP Support for Music Education will be a rally to be broadcast on New York and New Jersey media.  Afterward, drummers will be treated to a full clinic with The Cadets staff and members.  As of May 9, more than a dozen drumlines have committed to performing. Contact Sean King at sking@yea.org with questions or to reserve your space.
