The Lehigh Valley rallies for Youth Education in the Arts

Chase 'Big Idea' Press Conference; YEA! Night with the Iron Pigs

As one of only two organizations in Pennsylvania heading into Round Two of the Chase Community Giving campaign, Youth Education in the Arts is connecting with the Lehigh Valley community in the coming days during a press conference featuring special guest Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, plus an evening of celebration at local Coca Cola Park, home of the Minor League baseball team, the Iron Pigs. chase sticker

YEA! will hold a press conference on Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m., as high school music students and Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski share with residents the impact music and the marching arts has in the lives of young people. The press conference highlights the life-changing affects music education can have on students in the community, and draws attention to March 4 Music, the ‘Big Idea’ YEA! presented as part of Round Two in the Chase Community Giving program.

YEA! was the top vote getter across the nation and a $25,000 winner during Round One of the Chase, an online charitable giving program through the social forum Facebook. Starting May 19 through May 25, YEA! has the opportunity to work towards $500,000 in grant money from the Chase program to pursue March 4 Music, a series of benefit charity walks and rallies to raise $3 million dollars for the benefit of high school music programs.

At March 4 Music events, high school music students and their supporters will mobilize at events in major stadiums to raise funds and awareness for scholastic music, with individual schools earning up to $30,000 and keeping 100 percent of the proceeds they raise!

Years from now, March 4 Music will be a sustainable funding resource for music in the schools, providing much needed private funding and groundswell of publicity to keep music education alive and well in communities across the country.

Join YEA!, Mayor Pawlowski and other special guests for this very special press conference at 1 p.m. at the YEA! offices at 601 W. Hamilton St., Allentown.

YEA! hits the field with the Iron Pigs!

The Yea! team will spend the evening doing their other favorite American pastime (beside marching music!) on May, May 23 as they head to Coca Cola Park in Allentown, home of the Minor League baseball team, the Iron Pigs, for an evening of sponsorship fun!  ironpigs-logo.jpg

An astonishing 9,227 fans frequented Coca-Cola Park per game in 2010, making the highly-acclaimed venue the most visited in all of Minor League Baseball. The Iron Pigs take on the Gwinnett Braves starting at 7:05 p.m.

“We look forward to partnering with the Iron Pigs and Coca Cola Park for a night of community fun that brings together our programs, our ‘Big Idea’ and the all-American pastime,” said Sean King, director of marketing for YEA. “We will be rallying the vote at Coca-Cola Park with fellow residents of the Lehigh Valley with creative and exciting promotions.”
