After success in Utah, The Cadets prepare for Denver

Angel and Demon Diary: Cadets daily updates from the road

The Cadets were back on their game on July 6 for an important show day. The mountainous backdrop at the rehearsal site in South Jordan, Utah would rival any we’ve seen so far, and the corps worked hard to get ready for a rematch with the Blue Devils and Phantom Regiment.

Built to host the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, the Rice-Eccles Stadium at The University of Utah was a fantastic arena for drum corps. The crowd was dynamic, and The Cadets came in first place by half a point with a score of 82.90.

Another long drive last night brought the corps to Fort Collins, Colorado; The Cadets will stay here for three days, with two full rehearsal days to prepare for the big show in Denver on Saturday.

Brass Caption Head Gino Cipriani and Drum Caption Head Colin McNutt will be rejoining the staff today after their leaves of absence, as things are beginning to pick up competitively as well as logistically. The admin team is hard at work getting the corps ready for their first big regional next weekend. Demon Dinkles will be getting a fresh coat of maroon today, and angel shakos will be cleaned as well. Then comes uniform cleaning and a mass re-fit of everyone in the corps next week.
