The Cadets arrive in Minneapolis clean and ready to go

Angel and Demon Diary: Cadets daily updates from the road

The Cadets rehearsed in Nebraska again yesterday, and the staff decided to cut the day short and send the corps to do laundry last night. They finished rehearsal at 4:00 p.m., packed up for good and went to wash their clothes.

Laundry days are always a highlight for members – they get to feel like they’re a part of the real world for three hours and wander to the nearest local Mexican restaurant or McDonald's. The convoy met up in a Wal-Mart parking lot at 9:00 p.m., and the kids got a little time to buy necessities before our long stint in Minnesota.

Abby and I worked on washing demon corps uniforms for most of yesterday so that our seamstresses can start refitting the horn and drum lines today. Angel uniforms will also be washed today. By the time The Cadets pull into Minneapolis, the goal is to have everyone looking (and smelling) great in freshly tailored uniforms.

These four days in Minnesota will set the direction of the rest of the season, and the design team is meeting as often as possible. As George said last night, “We have five weeks to be the best of all time.”

Look for an update on changes to the show soon.

The corps was up at 8:00 this morning after pulling in around 5:00 a.m. They will rehearse from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The weather in Minneapolis is great for rehearsal -- though we may see a little rain, temperatures won't reach 90 while The Cadets are in town.
