Caryn Goebel Leaves the YEA! Family After 5 Fabulous Years

After nearly six years of being the voice of the Cadets, USSBA and YEA!, Communications Manager Caryn Goebel wrote her last press release for the organization Tuesday, July 12 as she completed this chapter in her career with YEA! and accepted a position with East Stroudsburg University Foundation in East Stroudsburg, Pa.

“Caryn has been the go-to for many people inside the office and outside for her entire time here at YEA!.” said George Hopkins, CEO of YEA! and director of The Cadets. “Her knowledge of the organization has been an asset to promoting every aspect of the programs and events. Beginning as a marching member in 1983 and coming back to YEA! as a freelance writer, we took a great step forward with Caryn when she joined the team full time in 2007. We wish her only the best in her future career path, and look forward to seeing her in the stands cheering on The Cadets.”

Bill Speakman, COO of YEA! added, “Caryn has not only been a valued employee of YEA!, but also a Cadets alumnus, friend to the staff and, incidentally, mom to two great kids — not an easy juggling act. She has done all of those jobs well and made all of our jobs easier by doing so.”

Goebel posted that after “seven months freelance, nine months part time and more than four years full time, (I am) so grateful for the many notes and calls from alumni and friends over the past few weeks. I am fortunate for the experience I gained, and more for the dear friendships I've rekindled and made!”

A search begins immediately for a replacement for Goebel in the roles of assistant director of development who will take over the special events responsibilities along with assisting the development director with campaign fundraising and alumni and donor relations. A new position will be created as the assistant director of marketing, assisting the entire organization with publicity and promotions of the events and programs of YEA! through traditional and emerging social media. Individuals interested in either position can apply at the YEA! employment page.
