Vic Firth and the USSBA Announce the Pump Up Your Line Winners

Three Drumlines Win Gear as Part of the 'I'm With Vic' Promotion

Three lucky USSBA drumlines have won $500, $250 and $100 worth of gear as the “Pump Up Your Line” contest for the summer ended earlier this week. The winners are:

  1. First place winner of $500 of Vic Firth gear: Greg Arsenault of Cranston High School East
  2. Second place winner of $250 of Vic Firth gear: Scott Paul of North Plainfield High School
  3. Third place winner of $100 of Vic Firth gear: Janet Donovan of Norristown High School

Not only were these instructors and directors invited to a "meet & greet" with Vic Firth signature artists Tom Aungst, Lee Beddis and Colin McNutt prior to the Aug. 7 DCI Tour of Champions Grand Finale at the New Meadowlands Stadium, they were able to see eight of the best drum corps in the world participating in the final major competition before the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis.

“We are fortunate to have such a great partner in Vic Firth to pull together contests and events like ‘I’m With Vic’ and the ‘Pump Up Your Line’ in order to provide unique events and experiences for our drumlines,” said Sean King, director of marketing for YEA! “The fact we are able to put high quality products and help offset some of the expenses associated with running a drumline is even a bigger benefit for some of these lines.”

The “Pump Up Your Line” promotion began earlier this year as a lead-up to the 2011 Zildjian Indoor Percussion Series presented by the USSBA when several lines were able to win great gear in preparation for their 2011 indoor season.
