The final day on the road

Angel and Demon Diary: Cadets daily updates from the road

It’s Finals day here in Indianapolis, and all the festivities are well underway. The volunteers prepared Championship Breakfast this morning while the bus drivers shuttled parents over from the Indianapolis Westin. The corps woke up at 8:45 a.m., and everyone ate and took pictures with family members until 10:15.

George summed up the summer for a few minutes, then opened the floor to any age-outs who wanted to say a few words. There were many thanks and tears and laughs, and then it was time to get the day started.

The Cadets are unanimously fired up about tonight’s performance; they are set up to make this the best run of the season.

“It’s not all about winning,” said George Hopkins to parents, members and staff at the day meeting this morning. “It sounds a little trite, but it really is about the journey. Now, do we want to win? Yeah, we play the game. And you’re going to be able to power a city with the amount of energy coming out of these guys when we’re in that tunnel waiting to go on.”

The Cadets perform tonight at 10:03 p.m.
