23rd USSBA season almost here!

Marching band events debut this month in N.J. and Conn.

In less than 10 days, 16 bands will get together and launching the 23rd season of the US Scholastic Band Association at events in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Edison High School is returning to the USSBA calendar as a clinic event where bands will have the opportunity to meet with a clinician immediately following their performance. Judges and clinicians for this event are: Dennis Argul, clinician; Rich Guillen, clinician; Joe Vala, music ensemble; Brian Leonard, music performance; Brian Law, visual; Joe Marrella, overall effect.

Danbury High School has a strong showing for their first time hosting a USSBA event. The nine-band show is one of several new local shows in Connecticut for 2011. Judges for this event are: Dominick Ferrara, music ensemble; James Riley, music performance; Judy Ulchinsky, visual; Jim Mallen, overall effect.

Every USSBA early season event comes with a preview, ‘bring-what-you-got” mentality allowing bands enter the competitive field with however much of their program is complete and receive adjudicator feedback on what they perform.
