The bright lights and big city atmosphere of MetLife Stadium will be electric on Saturday with nearly 6,000 marchers performing on the same field that is the home to the New York Giants and New York Jets.

The bands are ready. The stadium is set. Now all we need is for you to be in the stands ready to cheer on your favorite band! Of course, we’ll have plenty of great Yamaha Cup souvenirs including DVD, tees and hoodies. Watch for specials throughout the stadium all day long — and stay tuned to Facebook and #yamahacup on Twitter for special social media bonuses!

We are happy to bring a close to our Free DVD Upgrade Contest for the Yamaha Cup. We want to congratulate  Natalie Macri of Chatham, N.J., who, with her pre-order of the Yamaha Cup DVD, will be receiving a free souvenir T-shirt and sweatshirt from the event. Sorry if you didn’t win, but we will have more opportunities to play as we look forward to the State and National Championship events in a few weeks.

As of noon Friday, pre-orders for delivery of instant DVDs have ended. But, if you can’t make the big show tomorrow, you can still order your DVD online and it will be shipped beginning on Monday, Oct. 17.

If you’re planning to attend the event, there’s detailed information at the official MetLife Stadium site regarding policies and parking. Do note, parking will be FREE at this event.

Some other new features at MetLife

Friends & Family Fotos with Jolesch Photography

The USSBA and Jolesch Photography are teaming up with a special pilot program at MetLife Stadium for the Yamaha Cup. Along with each band member being photographed on the field in action, and the usual group photograph after their performance, we have added a "Friend & Family Foto" space.

Individual members will have their photo taken in front of the official USSBA Yamaha Cup backdrop for a personal souvenir photo of their Yamaha Cup experience, then they will be able to gather with their closest friends and family members for a special Friend & Family Foto.

Parents who are interested in having their photos taken with their favorite band members should report to the Pepsi gate immediately following their band’s performance in order to take the Friends & Family Foto. Friends & Family Fotos, along with individual action and group shots will be available at Jolesch.com beginning Monday, Oct. 17.

“Accidental Band Geek” author to sign books at MetLife Stadium

Erin Dionne, admitted ‘band geek’ and author of the recent Penguin release “Notes from an Accidental Band Geek” will be on hand at MetLife Stadium to autograph copies of her new book throughout the day on Saturday.

The USSBA has teamed with Dionne’s publisher in order to use her book as a fundraiser for the organization and Dionne can’t be more thrilled! Dionne said briefly after an appearance in Mass. at an USSBA event, “I had a *blast* on Saturday night. It brought back memories of competitions I did in high school. The bands were so proud of their achievements and worked really hard on their shows.  I was impressed by their dedication--but also remembered feeling the exact same way when I was competing.”

Parents looking for a great holiday gift may want to pick up “Notes from an Accidental Band Geek” and get a copy autographed to provide their “band geek” with a special present this holiday season!
