Conn. on Dec. 1 & N.J. on Dec. 3; Other Areas Coming Soon

With the most recent USSBA season only one week in the rear view mirror, YEA! CEO George Hopkins and USSBA Director Rich Hammond are hitting the road in the coming weeks as planning for the 2012 USSBA season is already underway.

The first two meetings are set for Cheshire High School in Cheshire, Conn. on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, N.J. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Future meetings are planned for the bands in South N.J., Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and a very special trip to Texas. The dynamic USSBA duo of Hopkins and Hammond recently returned from a visit to the NC Music Educator’s Conference in Winston-Salem and had plenty of positive feedback in which to build from for 2012.

Important to the planning for the upcoming season is a broad range of topics including scheduling, adjudication, fees and more. Attendees should plan on a robust question and answer session in order to address any concerns from the past season and to be an integral part of the plans for the 2012 season.

George Hopkins said in announcing the meetings, “There will be some major changes in the USSBA in the coming months and we want to make sure we have the opportunity to hear from the bands themselves and give everyone a look inside our planning for 2012 and beyond.  This is a very exciting time for me personally to be a part of the USSBA, and we want to share that enthusiasm with everyone by clearing the decks from 2011 and look forward to a bright future for us all.”

For band directors interested in sending a representative or registering for one of these meetings, please RSVP at www.YEA.org/USSBA2012.
