New Position Available: Director of Recruiting

Position to help Cadets, Cadets2, Urban Arts Center and USSBA

YEA! is beginning the search for a director of recruiting. The position is available now.

According to George Hopkins, the CEO of Youth Education in the Arts and the director of the Cadets, "Regardless what program we are involved in, recruiting is a specific and crucial part of the effort. From the Cadets to Cadets2, to Hand Drumming, and to the US Scholastic Band Association, we are recruiting. We are building relationships. We are bringing the message of the programs of Youth Education in the Arts to the people of our community. And to do that, we need someone who is willing and able to carry the torch".

The Director of Recruiting will answer directly to Mr. Hopkins.

The position will have some office time and for certain, many hours on the phone, but there will also be a good bit of time on the road.

An example of activity

> Visiting College Band Directors in the Northeast to talk about the Cadets and Cadets2

> Visiting the 800 bands of the USSBA to discuss our program and what we might do to better assist their program.

> Presenting at various colleges to leadership groups and others interested in the Cadets or Cadets2

> Presenting to High Schools in the Lehigh Valley about the possibilities of being a part of our new to develop percussion center

> Visiting businesses in the Valley to talk about hand drumming and how we might bring our offerings to their business

And there are many, many other opportunities

This is an ideal position for a very verbal college graduate who may teach over a summer but is looking to make $20-30K From Aug 15th -- May 15th. Perhaps you are a corps person, or perhaps your summer is committed to teaching camps and other activity. This could be just the fit.

On the other hand, this can definitely be a 12 month gig!! We have the programs, we have the folks we need to talk to, and we definitely need to let more people know about who we are and what we do.

The approach being taken is new to YEA! so there will be a certain level of creativity as the workload proceeds. For certain, projects 1 and 2 will be making sure the Cadets and Cadets2 are populated with 278 young people who can best be served by the challenges and opportunities we provide.

Want to talk?

Want to hit the phones and the streets for YEA!
