The end of a long and productive day

One great thing about being a Cadet is the fact that our director is honest with the members about where he is in the design process. In the Hop Meeting Saturday night, George Hopkins discussed the current direction he and the design team are taking with the 12.25 concept. Several tunes are still under consideration, but today the horn line did learn two minutes of “Do You Hear What I Hear?” for the opening of the show.

After the meeting ended at 8:00 p.m., the drum line stayed in the auditorium to continue their advanced technique work, the pit headed back to the gym, and the horn line went back into sectionals in classrooms before closing out the night as an ensemble in the cafeteria.

Rehearsals ended at midnight, and everyone had an hour to eat soft pretzels, shower and get situated in the gym before lights out at 1:00 a.m. The Cadets are up at 7:30 Sunday morning.

The tuba line arranged their sleeping bags and air mattresses in a circle and slept around this little Christmas tree in the gym.
