This weekend the first units will take to the floor for the 2012 USBand Clinic and Preview event at Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington, N.J. with aspirations for a successful and productive winter season.

Feb. 18 has been circled on quite a few calendars since the 2012 USBands Indoor schedule was first published. The Clinic and Preview is an event that brings with it a lot of firsts: USBand’s first indoor clinic, first performances of the 2012 season for most groups and first time for Hunterdon Central H.S. to host a USBands Indoor show.  To register for the Feb. 18 clinic or any one of the 2012 USBands Indoor competitions, please visit

Rich Hammond, director of band relations, said, “The clinic format is a great way to get another set of eyes to check out your program at a critical point in the development of your show.  By providing feedback from clinicians in a rehearsal setting, the students may receive the same instruction but from another perspective and a fresh voice.  It is important to reinforce basics at this point in the season and development of any program.”

The season will once again cap off on Saturday, April 14 at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. with the 2012 USBands Indoor Colorguard and Zildjian Indoor Percussion Championships.

“The championships have a maximum capacity of 60 units and with the date change to the week after the Easter holiday we are seeing more interest than ever in the event,” said Swengler. "We’ve always maintained Sun National Bank Center is a spectacular way to end a unit’s season, and with the flat $250 championship registration fee, it’s more affordable that ever for units to attend and compete!”
