Over 70,000 talented young people perform each fall as students from USBands schools. This fall, 300 lucky performers from the ranks of USBands will be recognized as members of the very first USBands All-Star Marching Band.  allstar2.jpg

To showcase this incredible accumulation of talent, USBands, in conjunction with MusicAmerica, has secured an exclusive invitation for the band to appear in the prestigious, nationally-televised Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade at the Walt Disney World Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

From Nov. 29–Dec. 2, the All-Stars will spend four days and three nights at Walt Disney World® Resort training with members of the instructional team of the 10-time World Champion Cadets as they prepare for the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. Additionally, the All-Stars will have time to visit the Walt Disney Resort® Parks, take part in a special awards banquet and make friends with other musicians and colorguard performers from around the country.

The all-inclusive fee for participation begins at $895 and includes all meals, ground transportation and lodging at Disney’s All-Star Resort, three-day Walt Disney World® PARK HOPPER® Pass including admission to the Magic Kingdom® Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, Epcot®and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and much, much more. Airfare is not included.

The application process is new and unique to the music activity in that it is a peer and parent-based process on Facebook. Simply visit www.facebook.com/usbands and nominate the performers in your band that you think will best represent your school as a member of the 2012 USBands All-Star Band. From there, USBands will confirm the nomination with the student and band director that the individual(s) are in good standing with their band and school. If you would like to nominate yourself, you can do so HERE.

Participation in the USBands All-Star Marching Band will be limited to those students that are sophomores, juniors and seniors as of the date of the event.

Applicants will be required to register at www.USBandsAll-StarBand.org. The non-refundable registration fee is $25 when submitted by April 1, after April 1 the registration fee is $45.

All percussion and brass instruments will be provided by USBands, however trombones and woodwinds will need to bring their instruments.  Equipment and costumes for the colorguard will be provided.  All musicians will need to bring their own uniforms and marching shoes.

Due to the limited number of percussion positions, each percussion applicant will need to submit a video via YouTube or by submitting a video on DVD.  More information and links can be found at www.USBandsAll-StarBand.org.  Every percussion applicant will receive a complimentary pair of Vic Firth drumsticks simply for applying.

USBands will provide instructional staff and other supervisory staff to ensure the well-being of students during the event. In addition to USBands professional teaching staff, USBands will select chaperones to accompany the All Star Marching Band to rehearsals, functions and “free time” excursions, and to conduct nightly bed checks. All All-Star Band members and parents will be required to abide by USBands Code of Conduct while on the trip.

Parents and families of band members are invited to join in the fun and enjoy the USBands All-Star Experience, with special offers and pricing on a spectacular holiday trip to one of the nation’s leading vacation destinations.
