The Cadets go to work again this weekend on their "12.25" program with even more additional material ready for the members and staff to continue to learn, tweak, rehearse and repeat in the friendly confines of Woodstown High School in Woodstown, N.J.

As always, fans, friends and alumni are welcome to join the corps 12:45–2 p.m. Sunday for ensemble and to hear what the corps has completed over the weekend. Please do join us at Woodstown — or North Pole South, as we like to call it this year.

“With the February camp, we get down to some of the nitty-gritty of putting the show together,” said George Hopkins, director of The Cadets. “The members realize there are only two more camps after this weekend before spring training. A great deal of work will be completed this weekend.”

[object Object]The Cadets are excited to welcome Vaughn Sawdon from DeMoulin Brothers, the official uniform partner of The Cadets, who will be joining us for the camp to do the fittings for the members.  This is always a very important camp to members, for many it is the first time for them to don The Cadets’ uniform. “We’ve had many members so overcome with emotion that their eyes fill with tears the first time they are able to put the uniform on,” said Melissa Barlow, assistant director of performing ensembles and a Cadets’ alumnus.

A special corps meeting for members and staff will be held on Saturday evening, where further details about the "12.25" show will be revealed for the very first time. Members of The Cadets Maroon & Gold Club will be receiving private links to a video of this meeting in the next week, so if you’ve donated to the Maroon & Gold Club or the recent holiday campaign, you’ll be able to get some exclusive inside scoop.

Cadets2 will have a presence as well this weekend at Woodstown High School, as there will be a brass audition at 10 a.m. for trumpets, baritones and tubas, as well as mallet percussion for anyone interested in marching in the corps’ inaugural season in 2012. Cadets2 is a weekend-only, regionally based alternative to The Cadets. The age range is 16–25 and was created to serve the many young people who wish to have a Cadets-quality experience, but do not have the time or resources in order to participate with the national touring ensemble. If you’re interested in Cadets2, please contact Rich Hammond at Rich@YEA.org or 908-304-5987.

For those of you who love all the details… here they are!
