Band members and their parents will need to be checking their mailboxes and their band directors mailbox for their invitation to participate in the USBands All-Star Marching Band which will be performing in the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade to be broadcast nationally on ABC.

Recently posters, brochures and invitations were sent to the member schools of USBands, and other invitations were sent directly to the homes of USBands musicians and colorguard performers. These invitations include all of the steps to nominate a peer or student for the USBands All-Star Band.  Or you can nominate a talented young person right now through the USBands All-Star Band Nomination Form.

As of March 15, over 100 performers from throughout the ranks of the USBands organization have been nominated and the group is well on its way to the 300 performers which will be featured in the Disney Parks Parade during the four day/three night trip from November 29-December 2.

Peers and parents from all across the country are nominating their favorite musicians and guard performers to become one of the lucky 300 performers who will march in the prestigious, nationally televised Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade at the Walt Disney World Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.jazzinndisneycopyright

“We have an immense pool of talent from which to draw our members for the All-Star Band,” said Melissa Barlow, project manager for the USBands All-Star Band, “By asking peers and parents to nominate the students who excel in their band, we’re putting the selection process in the hand of those who know the performers best.”

From Nov. 29–Dec. 2, the All-Stars will spend four days and three nights at Walt Disney World® Resort training with members of the instructional team of the 10-time World Champion Cadets as they prepare for the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. Additionally, the All-Stars will have time to visit the Walt Disney Resort® Parks, take part in a special awards banquet and make friends with other musicians and colorguard performers from around the country.

The all-inclusive fee for participation begins at $895 and includes all meals, ground transportation and lodging at Disney’s All-Star Resort, three-day Walt Disney World® PARK HOPPER® Pass including admission to the Magic Kingdom® Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, Epcot®and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® theme park and much, much more.  Airfare is not included.

The application process is new and unique to the music activity in that it is a peer and parent-based process on Facebook.  Simply visit www.Facebook.com/USBands and nominate the performers in your band that you think will best represent your school as a member of the 2012 USBands All-Star Band. From there, USBands will confirm the nomination with the student and band director that the individual(s) are in good standing with their band and school. If you would like to nominate yourself, you can do so HERE.

Participation in the USBands All-Star Marching Band will be limited to those students that are sophomores, juniors and seniors as of the date of the event.

Applicants will be required to register at www.USBandsAll-StarBand.org. The non-refundable registration fee is $25 when submitted by April 1; after April 1 the registration fee is $45.

Further details regarding instruments, uniforms and auditions are available at www.USBandsAll-StarBand.org.

USBands will provide instructional staff and other supervisory staff to ensure the well-being of students during the event. In addition to USBands professional teaching staff, USBands will select chaperones to accompany the All Star Marching Band to rehearsals, functions and “free time” excursions, and to conduct nightly bed checks. All All-Star Band members and parents will be required to abide by USBands Code of Conduct while on the trip.

Parents and families of band members are invited to join in the fun and enjoy the USBands All-Star Experience, with special offers and pricing on a spectacular holiday trip to one of the nation’s leading vacation destinations.
