Cadets Establish Alumni Classes to Connect Former Members

Alumni Weekend at MetLife Stadium on August 5!

state60.jpgWith The Cadets first performances right around the corner we are fast approaching our Alumni Reunion scheduled for August 5 at the Tournament of Champions show at Metlife Stadium.

As you may know, this year we are pulling all Cadet Alumni together by class and we want you to complete a short survey to denote which years you marched. This simple system will eventually allow members to interact with one another based on the years they marched, as well as create the foundation for the annual celebrations The Cadets have planned for the alumni weekend at the August home show each year.

The alumni anniversary celebrations will coincide with the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony planned for the alumni weekend at the August home show. This year, members from the corps celebrating their 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 60th and 70th years, as well as silver (25th) and golden (50th) anniversaries will be featured during pre-event festivities including individualized gathering places at the stadium.

For 2012, the Aug. 5 event will host anniversary gatherings for the corps of 1942, 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1987, 1992 and 2002. More details as to the exact time and location are yet to come.

Cadets Alumnus and Hall of Fame committee member Santo said in a call, “Alumni really have the connection to the corps through the years they marched. It’s the stories, the friendships, the bonds that were formed which makes The Cadets so important to each alumnus. This new format should allow us to stay in contact with one another and keep connected to the larger organization in a much more meaningful way — and that will be better for us all.”

Hopkins concluded the announcement by saying, “We are one corps, but with many, many stories. We believe we have finally figured out the best way to acknowledge, engage and interact with alumni on an ongoing basis.  We can’t wait to get started!”
