YEAllentown! Concert Brings The Rhythm to Symphony Hall June 7

Youth Education in the Arts lives up to its reputation as "The Rhythm of the Lehigh Valley" on Thursday, June 7 when the nearly 300 young people of the combined programs of YEA! fill Allentown’s Symphony Hall with an amazing evening of brass, percussion, hip-hop and world music in an eclectic and entertaining mix of music and pageantry.yeallentown no date

Returning for its second year, the "YEAllentown! Benefit Concert for the Programs of Youth Education in the Arts" is the annual celebration of youth and music when the youngest performers of the Urban Arts Center join with the college-aged members of The Cadets and Cadets2 on the same stage to entertain and inspire supporters from the Lehigh Valley and surrounding communities.
Headlining the 2012 YEAllentown! concert will be the 10-time and current World Champion Cadets drum and bugle corps in their first uniformed appearance of the year. Performing the world premiere of their 2012 production "12.25", The Cadets will explore the music of the holiday season in their own inimitable style of soaring brass and high energy percussion, all at tempos that will excite and amaze.

Making their intitial public appearance ever will be Cadets2, the all-new, regionally-based, weekend only corps which will be taking to the competitive field for the very first time this summer.
Joining the World Champions and Cadets2 will be the other programs of the Urban Arts Center of Allentown including, the Xcape Hip-Hop Dance Company, members of the Lehigh Valley Youth Drumline and the “Kids Beats Kids” from the Saturday morning program for elementary and middle school children and their parents.
Preceding the YEAllentown! benefit concert will be a VIP reception for supporters, friends and local dignitaries at the Cosmopolitan Restaurant located directly across Sixth Street from Symphony Hall.
