March Camp Saturday Morning Update

A quick recap of Friday night

The Cadets are hard at work in sectionals this Saturday morning after a Friday night spent reviewing all the music they’ve learned so far. The brass didn’t touch the show music last night. Gino conducted a full brass warm up in the cafeteria; then they split into high and low brass sections, and the staff took the evening to go back over “Jump,” “We Need a Little Christmas” and “Philip Bliss.”

For the first time, the horn line also started piecing “Rocky Point” together. Although that Cadets’ classic has to be learned at a disappointingly slow tempo, it’s a special rite of passage for new members to play it in the line for the first time.

The evening wrapped up at midnight with some taco salad in the cafeteria, and lights went out in the gym at 1:00 a.m.

Also, The Cadets’ new equipment trailer is onsite this weekend! We've got some great volunteers working hard to design the empty inside to fit all of the instruments, uniforms and equipment.  Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Cadets 2011 Holiday Fund to make this new piece of our rolling stock a reality!
