Cadets Kick-off Weekend June 7 - 9 in PA and NJ

Events in Allentown, Connecticut and Allendale, NJ on tap

While The Cadets are only entering the first few days of spring training, the corps is already gearing up for the end of their one month encampment in Western Pennsylvania when they hit the road for the first time and get into uniform to bring "12.25" to life in a public concert, stage show, an open rehearsal and a field show sneak preview for fans and alumni.

Beginning on Thursday, June 7, The Cadets start their 2012 journey in their hometown of Allentown with two special performances. At noon on Thursday, the folks of Downtown Allentown will be treated to a standstill concert as part of the "Music in the City" Concert Series, and will give a taste of what’s to come later in the evening at the concert in Symphony Hall. Then, after an afternoon of rehearsals, The Cadets will be one of the featured acts at the annual YEAllentown! Benefit Concert beginning at 7 p.m.

Sharing the stage with The Cadets will be each of the program offerings of YEA! including the Xcape Hip-Hop Dance Company, Kids Beats Handdrummers and in their very-first public appearance ever, Cadets2.

Tickets are available for YEAllentown! at The following day, The Cadets will return to Connecticut for a day of rehearsal and an evening public performance for family, friends and alumni at Francis T. Maloney High School in Meriden, Conn.

On Saturday, June 9, The Cadets return to their roots in North Jersey for a special preview kick-off event at Northern Highlands High School in Allendale, N.J. Allendale provided an amazing send-off to the corps last year that carried all the way to the World Championship.

Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. with the corps taking the field in uniform at 7:30 p.m. for the world’s first look at the holiday-inspired "12.25" program along with a bevy of other tunes. A suggested donation will be welcome at the gate. Alumni are invited to join in the festivities beginning after the performance as the corps mingles with friends and family that mean so much to so many.

Finally, The Cadets 2012 Kick-off Weekend concludes on Sunday, June 10 with a performance at the Holy Name Church in Garfield, N.J. for a special celebration recognizing the church’s 100th anniversary in 2012 before the corps heads to a parade and then off to a three-day rehearsal in Western Pennsylvania and the season opener in Akron, Ohio on Saturday, June 16.
